I like character-driven stories, lighthearted humor and a twist that sneaks up on you, and science fiction author William Tenn delivered really wicked humor and characterization in Time in Advance. As Lewis Padgett, this writing group wrote marvelous science fiction and fantasy stories with fantastic characterization – yes, you read me appropriate, the stories featured that uncommon animal in science fiction, honestly likable characters. Nightfall, published first in Astounding Science Fiction in 1941, is a classic science fiction quick story, no doubt about it. Asimov produced it into a novel, too.
